About the Register
The WMA is often asked by associations, festivals, charities, church groups, private individuals, hotels, clubs, radio stations and the like if they can provide bands, duos, solo artists or other acts for ongoing, or one-off performances. In order to meet this demand and to be proactive in providing this information to anyone wanting live music, the WMA is putting together a band and act register for members of the association.
The WMA cannot act as agent, manager, broker or in any other capacity to promote your band. The Association will act merely as a gatherer and distributor of information. Should you wish to receive payment for your entertainment services, it will be up to you to do the necessary negotiations with any party who contacts your nominated contact person. It is a good idea to remember that professional acts often do not get paid but make money from CD sales etc.
So WMA Members please register yourselves and your bands so that we can include you in the Register. As more bands and acts are listed, the Register will become a popular reference, so make sure you are in it. You can download a Band Registration form from the Membership page of this site, fill it in and post or email it to us. If you want your details to be published here on this page, all members of the band/act must sign the registration to acknowledge acceptance that their name and picture will appear.
In case you’re not yet in a band or music act, the WMA provides opportunities for you to meet others who are looking for bands, duos and such. Come along to WMA functions, and make use of the Classifieds page on this site. You can advertise by writing, or by email, to the Web Master. With any luck, you will soon practicing regularly and having the time of your life. |

The Descendants specialise in classic covers from the best years of rock. We love all kinds of music, but we have a leaning towards pop/rock classics from the 60s and 70s. Beatles to Rose Tattoo probably says enough! But hey, if it sounds good to our ears, we’ll play it. We’re a classic pub band but happy to play parties, weddings, festivals or any other excuse for a dance and a sing along.

David Milne – Guitars, Vocals
Harvey Wright – drums, vocals
Philip Wright – Guitar

We are a group of seasoned players who in our past lives, have gigged around the country and overseas. Our Name, Not Dead Yet – borrowed from a Styx song – declares that we remember the sixties and seventies and just like the music from those golden years we are still going strong! Our fondness for classic rock and pop has brought us together, and that is what we play, affectionately and authentically – with a sprinkling of more contemporary material too.
Our sound is defined by David and Philip’s twin guitars and Harvey and Phil’s Rhythmic foundations, with Jeanel’s keyboards adding colour. Out front Jeanel’s lead vocals are augmented by Harvey and David. Our gigs have ranged from landmark outdoor events which as Wintersun and the Rockin’ Tewantin to the Tongue & Groove Cafe in Brisbane’s funky West End – plus a few 50th birthday parties. We are ready to play at your club, pub, party or event too! A splendid time is guaranteed for all!
